A Guided Tour of historic SPANISH TOWN
Spanish Town Revisited
The tragedy of the Taino Indians, predated the 1655 invasion by Penn and Venables and the end of Spanish rule, the 1838 proclamation of the abolition of slavery read from the steps of King's House, the governor’s refusal of Morant Bay’s Paul Bogle, all make this Capital Town one of the most important and interesting centers of heritage in Jamaica and the region; its significance today is only matched by its neglect and decay.
